I admire cosplayers, and I enjoy not only their art, but learning what motivates them in it. That is a big reason that I started this page in the first place. That love has only intensified and manifested in our taking a more media direction rather than retail.
As the face of cosplay has changed, so have the types of cosplayers and how far the envelope been pushed. There are new breeds of erocosplayers, fetish cosplayers, and lewd/nude content providers. Some people may disagree, but I think that cosplay is making a full circle back to it’s first roots: erotic roleplay.
Think about it. The first place that a person really roleplayed in a well-known fashion was in erotic roleplay: sexy strippers, wives dressing up as naughty Catholic schoolgirls, and of course sexy Halloween costumes. In my guestimation, they even predate the Star Trek, Star Wars, and comic book geeks that started cosplay on this continent…but I digress. ‘Back to Erotic cosplay.
Many of the erotic cosplay content providers are either busy making content, don’t really care for conversation, or some weird combination of both. This is why it is so fortunate to find such a high profile cosplayer that not only produces so much great content, but is willing to sit down and share about it.
Ladies and Gentlemen, you are in for a treat. All Cool Things™ would like to formally introduce you to Gumiho, also known as Gumiho.arts.
Your English is exceptional. How many languages do you speak? How do you speak this one so well?
Thank you so much for the compliment, I am fluent in German and English and I know a tiiiny bit of Spanish and Japanese, but not enough to speak it. When I was little I was given lots of English books to practice reading with so I developed English skills rather fast, and most of my followers are English speaking, so there’s that. Sometimes I even talk in English by accident to German friends. *uff*
I have to tell you: For a cosplayer that is out making such erotic content, you are remarkably polite! In this climate of Patreons and OnlyFans, I get the vibe that most of the women are only in it for the money, and fake any warmth for the people supporting their art. That’s really not a question in itself, but I was wondering: What do you feel about your fellow erotic cosplayers that provide content like you? Do you feel them a little cold or callus? Do you really have an opinion?
Thank you, even though it saddens me to hear you made rather unpleasant experiences with other girls, personally, I know quite a lot of girls who have a great passion and love for this kind of content as well (: Sometimes I get across girls who are in it only for the money, and while it makes me a bit sad, as I then can’t share my passionate views about photo projects with them, I also think, who are we to judge, I’m sure there’s plenty of people who are stuck in other jobs except sex work just for the money; take retail work for example. About personality: There’s probably bad apples in every community, but most of my experiences with other girls were rather positive. I love this job for several reasons, but one of them is definitely that I was able to met a lot of amazing and kind girls on the way.
This question can kind of go along with the last one. While I have seen a few cosplayers that provide erotic content on free Onlyfans, like yourself, you are the ONLY one that I know does that as an alternative to their regular one. This was another thing about you that earned some respect from me. What inspired you to do this. (You really didn’t have to, and it’s kinda cool.)
Oh, that is actually surprising to hear! I know quite a lot of girls who have both a free and a paid OnlyFans, since it’s a great way to have at least one social where you don’t have to fear about shadow ban, weird algorithms or being deleted for too NSFW stuff. Plus, I love having an alternative for those who can’t afford my paid OF, or who want to check the content out more a bit first, since this way I can still stay connected with everyone.
I can explain this with another example from around 2 years ago: I used to have only Facebook and Instagram back in the day, and when my first posts started to get deleted (nothing too wild even, I wasn’t naked or anything), I had two choices: Either put everything behind paywall and post only somewhat safe for work, or look out for other socials so I can continue to post free lewds. I love sharing my photo projects so I wanted to post at least a part from every set on socials for free. That’s why I opened up a Twitter. However, even Twitter is shadow banning lewd stuff to death now, and my Reddit is really hard to grow, so a free OF was the perfect way out of this misery! It’s my lewdest free social where I can post what I want (:
This is going to be a weird question, but it’s in response to a sort of weird answer given on your Cosplayer Score Card. When asked if you do Nudes, you said “Half-Yes (boobies).” For “More than Nudes,” you answered “Half-Yes (I make softporn, but no full nude yet, who knows what future will bring.)” How did that come about? How does that work? LOL I think most people that would draw the line at boobs would not do softcore porn at all. It’s like just your boobies are naughty, or you’re saving “that” for someone special.
Soo, this is going to be a bit personal, but quite frankly, I didn’t know how far I “could” go in the beginning of me opening up socials. I’m not saying “want”, cause it has always been a dream to create similar content to the one that I consume and look at myself from other creators. When I first made a Facebook page, (my first social ever) I was still in school and I didn’t really know what [kind of job] I would work. I always assumed I would have a boss one day, and work a more standard job, so I didn’t want my boss to fire me for doing very sexy stuff. I kept it to lingerie at first. After about a year I finally made enough to realize, that maybe I could live off this. By now, I definitely can and while my job can only be temporary due to it’s physical nature, I plan to stay self-employed as I can’t imagine not being my own boss. So, my only limits now are what I WANT to do, without the fear of it affecting my work life negatively. I also want to take it at my own pace and tempo.
I could see myself doing full nude or even porn, but I don’t have it planned out 100% yet, and I hope people will not pressure me.
A little birdie told me that your professional abilities go beyond your costuming and modeling. Who does the editing for your pictures?
Yep, that’s me. c: Editing pictures is what consumes the most time in my job and honestly, a bit too much. I would love to have more time to plan out big and complicated projects, get more into crafting or even streaming, so I might hire someone to help me with editing in the future.
I love editing, cause for me it’s some kind of magic or maybe “translation” to fully portray the vision of what I had in mind when I was in front of the camera. I just wish it wouldn’t take so long, ahaha.
You have a true knack for modeling. You radiate sexiness and cuteness in so many varying degrees. You’re a natural, but what got you into cosplaying? What made you then make that jump to erotic cosplay and content?
My, my, thank you. The first question is answered easily though. When I was still in school, (I was 15 I think) a friend asked me to cosplay with her together, and she explained what cosplay is to me. I tried it, loved it, and didn’t stop ever since. ;3
For the second question: I actually was interested in erotic content way before I got interested in cosplay! Look at my old notebooks for school. You’ll find them full with scribbles of tiddies and naked women. xD I was always fascinated by the beauty of the human body, especially the curves of women, (yup, I’m bisexual by the way) so it was only natural to me to combine my love for erotica with my love for cosplay (:
Actually, I also took erotic casual content before I took cosplay content, (of course I never sent that to anyone and I never will, cause I was rather young) so, my love for erotica was definitely first!
If you never discovered cosplay, do you think you would still provide erotic content? Do you ever think about doing specialty porn?
Yep, 100% certain about that! I would also like to emphasize here that I would even create erotic content if it didn’t bring me any money, as I did in the start as well. I would simply not be able to create as many projects as I do now. Fashion, makeup, lingerie, paying photographers, accessory, props, renting locations, travel costs, and cosplay most of all, is all together very expensive.
Do you have a lot admirers and fans within your home of Germany, or is it more international? Is there a country or countries that seem to give you the most love?
My follower base is mostly from the US actually, even though quite a few are also from Germany, yes. I get lots of love in English and German, sadly I don’t understand what other languages have to say about me.
When it comes to cosplays, you choose very sexy characters and variations. Do you have any characters that you think you might want to try outside your comfort zone? ‘Any that you think people might be surprised to see you do? (I actually have the perfect cosplay for you: The Jeff from Teen Titans Go!)
Oh, I think I actually pick a decent amount of non-sexy character designs as well, it’s usually the boudoir or lewd version of the character that I alter into something sexier. For example, High Elf Archer from Goblin Slayer sure is cute, but I wouldn’t say her design is especially sexy (aka revealing). I often make a full cosplay + alternative skimpier versions.
The only thing that’s kinda out of my comfort zone is guys (or in Jeff’s case, people who are supposed to appear male), so Jeff gets a no from me ;3 My first cosplay was a guy (Claude Faustus from Black Butler) but I’m feeling more comfortable portraying women as my face shape and body suits them more.
Other than photo shoots or content compilations, are there any other artists that you like to do work with? Do you ever work other cosplayers for big costuming or prop making projects?
Oh plenty! DAMN YOU COVID for ruining my collab plans for 2021, there’s so many cool girls out there I want to meet but yeah traveling is tough rn. I only meet up with some girls close (Germany, Belgium) to me every few months or so rn and we make sure we all are quarantining 2 weeks prior and take COVID tests.
And yeah I recently finally started to get into crafting more. Dear Mikomi Hokina helped me with a big project I haven’t finished yet, but you will see when it’s done! I’m a crafting noob so I still have plenty to learn!
What do you do when you are not cosplaying, modeling, or editing? What do you like to do in your free time?
I read, (mostly fantasy/sci-fi) game, (mostly League and some Indie games on the side) draw, (mostly boobies) dance, workout, and I like to pretend one of my hobbies is writing, except I haven’t written in ages and I feel super bad about it. I think last time I wrote was when I was still in school and that was… 2017, big oof. I swear, one day I’m gonna write again. *cries*
OH, and I got into TikTok recently, so that’s something I also wanna explore more! I wanna do those cool transition videos from couch potato to full dressed up glamour. ahaha
PS: Follow me on TikTok, I’m new there and need guidance. XD (@gumihocosplay)
I swear, there’s not enough hours in a day! It’s driving me crazy, why can’t I have 10 extra hours please…
Have you ever attended any conventions outside of Germany? Are there any conventions in other countries that you want to go to?
Are there any things you would like to accomplish outside the world of cosplay, modeling, and entertainment?
Yep, write and publish a book of my own.
If there was anything you wanted your fans and admirers to know, what would it be?
Thanks to you, I’m able to do what I do, and I’ll be forever grateful for that. I couldn’t imagine my life without you, quite literally. Any creator is nothing without their audience. That gives them their stage. It makes me incredibly happy to read all the motivation, good vibes and feedback from all of you, and I always appreciate constructive feedback too.
That said, here’s a special shoutout to my OnlyFans, cause I never experienced sweeter or more wholesome chats than there. You guys are the MVPs, and proove the point you can release loads of stress to a person and respect them at the same time. ;3 ‘Makes me happy to make you happy by doing something that makes me happy, double the happiness for everyone, yay! <3
Now that you’re tired of hearing me say the word “happy” I’d like to close the last question of the interview: Thank you for having me and I hope it was somewhat interesting to read. (:
Cosplay Name: Gumiho
How You Came Up With Name: Gumiho is Korean and basically means “fox” (in the mythological world, especially), it’s similar to the Japanese word “kitsune.” I love foxes very very much, especially the magical ones from tales and legends, and Ahri, my first league of legends main, is also a kitsune, so it came natural. Kitsune was a name that was already taken a lot in cosplay world, so I dug up the Korean equivalent to this word. I’m happy with how I can shorten Gumiho to Gumi now as a nickname :3
Other Known Aliases: Gumi, my preferred nickname
Base of Operations: Germany!
Years Cosplaying: I started when I was around 15, I think. I am 22 now, so that makes…7 years now?
First Cosplay: ‘Claude Faustus from Black Butler. I only took one picture of it; so sad! XD
First Con: ‘LBM (Leipziger BookFair) when I was 15. I wore a kimono and cat ears; super cringe, but it was HELLA fun.
Cons per Year: Before COVID, it was around 6. I love cons! Meeting friends, snacking overpriced stuff, buying cool stickers and prints from artists, connecting with followers aka having nice chats, taking weird selfies; ah, I miss it!
Make Your Own Costumes: ‘Only partially, ‘can’t sew.
Make Your Own Props: Partially, wanna get into prop making more in the future.
Do Your Own Hair: Yeah.
Do Your Own Makeup: Hell yes, I’m practicing that a lot.
Do Your Own Wig Styling: ;For easier styles yes, for advanced stuff, nope.
Makes Your Own Wigs: No
Favourite Cosplay: Tough question: ‘Maybe KDA Evelynn. I love KDA so much! I will make new KDA All Out Eve this year too. :3
Number of times you have been to Dragon Con: None, that con doesn’t exist in my country.
Nudes: Half-Yes (boobies)
More than Nudes: Half-Yes (I make softporn, but no full nude yet, who knows what future will bring)

Domain of Your Own: Yes! Need it to store my billions of cosplays!
Secret Super Power: ‘Can convince myself to buy a new cosplay even if I promised myself a day before to not buy new ones till I finished some old plans…Wait, that’s like a super ANTI-power. Maybe… ha I got it! Super fast reading. 😀 People are always weirded out by how quick I can finish books.
Today’s Cosplay at a Glance cosplayer is a fetish model, and of course, Patreon cosplayer. I’ve actually been a fan of her work for some time and often mistake her name as “Lady Lyumos.” Lada Lyumos is yet another cosplayer that I have tried to contact to be formally featured on All Cool Things™, but ‘to no avail. In fact, as far as personal Facebook profiles go, there are two “Lada Lyumoses,” and both are from Russia, but different cities.
In any case, here’s our Cosplay at a Glance cosplayer: Lada Lyumos.
Name: Lada Lyumos
Other Known Aliases: Lada Lyumos Cosplay
Where We Found Her: Facebook
What Stood Out: ‘Her immaculate hair and makeup, combined with a great latex/leather aesthetic.
Today’s cosplayer is a New Yorker, but for some reason, I thought she might have been from the UK…Anyway, yes: She has a Patreon.
She’s the cosplayer with the original name (because no cosplayer ever has “Chibi,” “Neko,” or “Cosplay” in her name). Cosplay at a Glance presents: ChibiNeko Cosplay.
Name: ChibiNeko Cosplay
Other Known Aliases: Skyla Rayne
Where We Found Her: Facebook
What Stood Out: She’s thin and tattooed.
Once again, she’s another cosplayer that I don’t know much about, except that she has a Patreon, she’s good at her craft, and she’s really easy on the eyes…
Cosplay at a Glance presents Reilin.
Other Known Aliases: Reilin Cosplay and Alexandra Reil
Where We Found Her: Facebook
What Stood Out: Excellent Photography
Originally this cosplayer was going to be a featured cosplayer for “Up and Coming Cosplayers,” but for whatever reasons, she stopped responding.
I have to admit that as far as cosplay, she’s a bit on the novice side, (Give her time.) but what really stood out was…well, it was her body…It is insane.
Yes, I don’t know if there has ever been a woman bourne on this Earth of 100% human lineage to have such a small waist with such comparatively big hips. She has unbelievable curves…
However, her pictures could use some work. There are often streaks, scratches, or something on them, and it’s almost as if they are in some sort of dark filter. To be honest, she could benefit from a good photographer.
In any case, I think that some of you will enjoy this pictorial for obvious reason. Cosplay at a Glance presents Mercedes Demon.
Name: Mercedes Demon
Other Known Aliases: The Demon Female and Mercedes
Where We Found Her: Facebook
What Stood Out: She has insane waist to hips ratio and is extremely cute, pretty, and sexy.
This upcoming month, February, is a home to a very popular social media event. In addition to it being Black History Month, (which is very important in itself) it is also a celebration for Black cosplayers. 28 days of Black Cosplay is a tag on social media that was created by Chaka Cumberbatch-Tinsely (@princessology on Twitter) several years ago. It was created to promote visibility, representation and to celebrate Black makers. There are plenty of cosplayers avidly talking about the costumes they plan to post during the month and how they plan on showcasing and uplifting other fellow creators. It is something that we are very excited about.
I thought that I might make another series for cosplay. At first, I thought about making this a sub-section of “Cosplay at a Glance,” but I felt the cosplayers featured had earned their own series, despite how similar.
Welcome to Famous Cosplayers at a Glance!
Yup, you probably guessed it: she has a Patreon.
Meet Alexandria the Red.
